A Little Red, White, and Blue

Wow, it's been a while since I posted last. But, things get hectic and busy, and at least I was finally able to do some crafting. I say crafting and not stamping because these next two items actually involved ZERO stamping. And...they are scrap book pages! Wow! I suck at scrapbooking. Seriously, I suck. But I was so happy with the way these turned out that I wanted to post them quickly before I run off to a Memorial Day cook out. And they just happened to turn out patriotic looking-ish. LOL I will post supplies later. Enjoy and enjoy your festivities today!

Time to Celebrate { You }

I have a dirty little secret (DLS). Not everything I use is Stampin' Up! Yes, I know, I'm bad. For example, I love, love, love the Memory Tape Runner XL by Therm O Web. I don't use any other tape runners. So on my run through Micheals to pick up some refills, I came across these really fun rub-ons by Making Memories on sale for $1.99! You just can't pass that up, and they match the Stampin' Up! colors. So here's a quick and easy card I made using some of them.

Enjoy, and thanks for stopping by!

Feature Friday - Rose's World

Thank God it's Friday, that is all I have to say about that!

Today you get a two for one. I wanted to show you the gorgeous flower pot card that I made for the very special mom's in my life...and showcase the blogger who gave me the inspiration. (yes, I know, I jumped on the bandwagon...but they really are beautiful IRL)

Since it's Feature Friday, I will share Rose's World with you first. Have fun browsing her site, she has some wonderful samples. Very modern, clean, and great use of color.

Below is my version of her flower pot card:

This card really was a lot of fun to make. Sometimes the more tedious, the more relaxing it can be. I used the texturz plates on creamy caramel card stock for the pot itself to add a little interest and then sponged over it with creamy caramel to make the embossing pop and the edges of the pot to give it an aged look. (Thanks Rose!) Lot's of Big Shot on this card, but you know what, that makes it go much faster than it appears. ;o)

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:

Paper:
Pink Pirouette card stock
Riding Hood Red card stock
Kiwi Kiss card stock (trying to use up those In-Colors before the new ones come out)
Creamy Caramel card stock
Bella Rose designer series paper (for the "M" on the tag)

Ink:
Pretty In Pink (sponging on the edge of the large flower petals)
Creamy Caramel (sponging on the pot)

Accessories:
Big Shot
Birds & Blooms sizzlits
Billboard decorative strip
Flower Layers original dies
Corner Rounder punch
Scallop Edge Punch
Crop-a-Dile

Don't Forget Your Friends on Mother's Day

OK, so I don't know about you, but I am at that age where I am a mother and most of my friends are mothers, plus my mom, and mother-in-law, and sister, and in-laws, etc. etc. etc. Well, I try not to forget my friends on Mother's Day as well. (At least not since I started stamping, because now I have no excuse as to why I didn't send a card!) And I am horrible at actually mailing things. Cards, gifts, bills...thank god for online bill-pay! But you really didn't come here to listen to me ramble about how post-office challenged I am.

So on to the card. I made a few "special" one's for those I am closest to (I will post those later this week). But I needed a card that was easy to make a few of, and wouldn't tire me out. So, with out further ado...here is the perfect card for Mother's Day for all of your friends out there. At least I think so. ;o)

Recognize the basic layout? It's derived from the very fabulous Kimberly Van Diepen, with a twist. Hope you like it!

Nope, I'm not crazy. It's an identity verification thing. ;o)

But I will have some some really cute cards to post later. I had some inspiration hit me yesterday and couldn't stop. Don't you just love it when the creative well is flowing? So much better than laying at the bottom of it, when it's dry, bleeding profusely from the head. Be sure to check back later and thanks for stopping by!
